Your infographics can be MUCH better.
🎨How to create a better infographic🎨
Have a purpose. Infographics take complex information from sources like e-books or research reports and make them visually engaging and easily digestible.
Use Data Points. Extract compelling stats, critical data points, and essential information that you want to include in the infographic.
Proper Use of Visual Elements. Use icons and animations to make the content more appealing. Turn data points into charts or graphs. Create icons to illustrate processes. Ensure there's a hierarchy guiding viewers using fonts, visuals, and colors.
Colors. Use brand colors strategically. Ensure text is easy to read with contrasting colors. Use colors to convey emotion (e.g., switching from red to green to indicate positive features).
Storytelling is VITAL. The infographic should have a logical flow, starting with a compelling headline and introduction, followed by a clear sequence of information. Use arrows and lines to guide the viewer.
Keep it Clear. Avoid clutter; keep the text concise and the visuals clear.
Proofing: Proofread, rewrite, and revise as needed. Ensure the accuracy of data and statistics.
💵What will it cost me to outsource infographic creation?💵
The cost of creating an infographic can range from a few hundred dollars to a couple of thousand, depending on the features (static, animated, etc.) and the service provider.
🤯Here's an infographic tip we had never heard before. To make the infographic more searchable, upload it as an SVG file so that search engine spiders can index it.
Agency Perfection vs. Startup Speed
An interview with Angela Donlan
There are some big tradeoffs when you outsource content creation to an agency.
🏢 Why You Would Want to Work with an Agency 🏢
Specialized Team Members. Agencies typically have teams of specialists (copywriters, designers, developers, QA, strategists) offering broad exposure to different marketing areas.
Diverse Client Experience. Exposure to various businesses and operational focuses can provide a comprehensive understanding of different markets and strategies.
Efficiency and Processes. Agency experience can teach efficiency and effective process management due to handling multiple clients simultaneously.
Focus on Perfection. Agencies often aim for highly polished deliverables, emphasizing detail and expertise.
External Perspective. Agencies can provide a fresh, outside perspective, potentially offering innovative solutions and ideas.
Resource Allocation. Agencies handle certain tasks, allowing internal teams to focus on other key business areas.
Pace and Red Tape. Agency work might involve more bureaucracy and slower processes due to layers of approval and diverse client needs.
🏠Why In-House May Be Better 🏠
Deep Product Knowledge. In-house teams have intimate knowledge of their product and audience, reducing guesswork in content creation.
Rapid Innovation. Startups and in-house teams can often move faster in creating and iterating content, focusing on what resonates with their audience quickly.
Alignment with Business Goals. Content is directly aligned with specific business goals like generating pipeline and building revenue.
Direct Access to Resources. Easier access to internal resources (engineers, SMEs, customers) for content authenticity and accuracy.
Focus on MVPs. In-house teams may prioritize minimum viable products (MVPs), focusing more on productivity and impact rather than perfection.
Flexibility in Roles. In-house roles often involve wearing multiple hats, requiring adaptability and a broad skill set.
Close Monitoring and Feedback. Direct feedback loops from different departments and rapid response to market changes are more feasible.
🤝 Blended Approach 🤝
Combining Strengths. Agencies can be used for creating polished, high-investment content once in-house experimentation identifies successful strategies.
Pillar Content Creation. Agencies might be tasked with developing major content pieces while in-house teams focus on quick, iterative content production.
Flexibility and Innovation. Using both in-house and agency resources allows for a balance between innovative, rapid content production and highly crafted, detailed projects.
